Hey Product Hunt — Chad Sakonchick here with BetterLegal Assistant's latest update! 🚀 We're thrilled to announce Phase 2: our AI-powered Contract Analysis tool. This isn't just another update; it's a game-changer in understanding contracts. Here’s what’s new: 🌟 1️⃣ Elements: Automatically extracts crucial details like parties, definitions, amounts, and timeframes. 2️⃣ Analysis: Ensures the contract is legally binding in the US, covering all necessary elements. 3️⃣ Balance: Evaluates clause fairness, revealing if terms favor one party or are mutually beneficial. 4️⃣ Scenarios: Identifies potential impacts based on your role in the contract. 5️⃣ Considerations: Dives deep into issues, implications, and provides key discussion points. 6️⃣ Options: Suggests language modifications and explains their significance. And the best part? It supports 57 languages! 🌍 I've seen friends like Ashley, who wrote a hit piece for a fitness magazine, get shortchanged due to "standard contracts." They received payment for one publication while their work was syndicated across many. Our tool aims to prevent such scenarios. For a minimal fee, BetterLegal Assistant processes contracts up to 70 pages — perfect for small deals like a $450 contract without the hefty $300/hour attorney fee. Plus, with 57 language support, it's a boon for the global economy. Our beta users love pairing it with their attorney consultations, elevating their discussions to a more informed level. 🎁 For today only, we're offering Product Hunters $100 in free credits. Don't miss out on revolutionizing how you understand contracts!

Such a great idea, understanding complex legal language in big contracts can be a nightmare - I'm excited to try this out on the next contract that lands in my inbox!
Chad Sakonchick
@jamesdevonport Thanks for the support James!

How does it compete with OpenAI or other AI tools. Like is there any thing unique or fine tuned >?
Chad Sakonchick
@haseeb This uses OpenAI. There are quite a bit of unique pieces in between however.

Wow! This product is amazing! As a small business owner, it's a no-brainer for me. I have to deal with contracts on a daily basis and being able to quickly analyze them in an affordable manner feels like having a superpower. If this is just version one, I can't wait to see how much better it can get!
Lee Launches
Congrats on the Launch! This will be useful for reviewing project exit contracts!
Chad Sakonchick
@leelaunches thanks so much Lee!

This sounds great guys, I've actually used some of the openly available AI chat bots to analyse contracts before and it worked ok, but felt like it could be a bit better. Could you share how this works behind the scenes? Are you just providing smart prompts to an existing AI model, based on what the user has told you, or have you actually fine-tuned a model to be a better legal counsel?

This is one of the best uses of AI I’ve seen so far. The kind of tool you don’t think you need… until you do. And then you REALLY do. Contracts and legal language are completely inaccessible to the average person, yet we’re expected to sign them on all the time! This is a no brainer for any small business who can’t afford a legal team.
Chad Sakonchick
@nocodelife That means a lot Kieran, much appreciated. The amount of people that I've witnessed just sign a contract that is put in front of them is terrible. Hoping to help people save a lot of heartache and frustration!
Philip Lakin
Congrats on the launch! Stoked to use this on our next vendor contract :)
Jelani Abdus-Salaam
Killer product!
Kelly Claus
Wowowowowow so super helpful! Very cool to see an actually practical use of AI. Looks really well executed, too. Well done, BetterLegal team! Excited to try it out!
Chad Sakonchick
@kellyclaus Thank you Kelly!!!
This is amazing! Very useful for small teams
Jordan J Richardson
"I thoroughly understand every implication of what I'm signing" said nobody.. ever.. Until now. Great work, Chad & team!! A true problem/solution fit IMO.
Chad Sakonchick
@nocodeadvantage Hahaha, very well put! Need people to stop just signing whatever is put in front of them!
Radu Tudosescu
Great launch, good luck!
Alexander Grepe
This is really clever use of AI. I especially like the idea of using it for fairness/party bias, that makes a lot of sense!
Chad Sakonchick
@alxgrepe It's a lot of fun to see what it pulls out in that section alone. While scenarios is useful to see how things impact you, making sure that various clauses aren't subtly unfair is something that was a happy surprise during development.
Zach Stevens
Using machines to do stuff that humans are bad at, clutch move 🤘
Chad Sakonchick
@zach_stevens1 Thanks Zach! Can you imagine having to read a 70 page contract without having your eyes cross? This should help a ton.
