See what people like and don't like about a movie in one quick look. Instead of a single 1-10 scale like IMDb, on BK you rate movies on four different aspects: 1. Story 2. Production (acting, directing, writing, etc.) 3. Entertainment 4. Cinematography & Sound

This project has been a labor of love for many years now. I appreciate the team and everything everyone has done to get us to beta. May it be the first of many startups to come! Give it a spin a please let me know what you think. Here are some things you can do today to get started: 1. Create an account 2. Leave a review (search icon on the bottom middle) 3. Follow a friend (go to Search > Users> give me a follow @ty and I'll follow you back!) 4. "Like" a review (go to the home feed after following someone to see it populated) 5. Customize your profile with an image and favorite movie quote Enjoy!

IMDB is terrible, does this pull the data from multiple sources and aggregate them?
Ty Andersen
@kingromstar We pull from The Movie Database. It's like the Wikipedia (crowdsourced) version of IMDb.

Love the concept behind BetterKritic's movie rating system! Rating movies on Story, Production, Entertainment, and Cinematography & Sound instead of just a 1-10 scale gives a more detailed and useful perspective. It's a smart way to understand what works in a movie and what doesn't.

@jovana_djekovic You're catching the vision 😃. So glad you enjoy it as much as we do!
Congratulations to Team BetterKritic on their grand launch on Producthunt! The concept of rating the separate elements of a movie is truly innovative. Perhaps, for additional insight and interesting UX, you could consider adding a fifth rating aspect - 'viewer's emotional response'. This way, users can express how the movie made them feel. Good luck soaring high!

@manmohit I like this idea a lot, we’ve thought about similar ideas. There’s just so much data you can gather from someone’s thoughts and emotions on a movie! We want to be the truly innovative ones that capture all that nuance. Thanks!
