THIS "Work Can Wait: Give work the weekend off" = Best feature ever. I wish more apps would integrate this concept. This update looks extremely promising and is finally giving Basecamp users the features they need.

Looks like they're trying to catch up to some of the features in Slack. Either way, can't wait to try it out.

I was a user years ago and switched to other products to replace it. This looks really really promising and has so many features that it could replace some of the 6+ SaaS I have rigged together now. I am really looking forwarding to see what can be added via API / how tight integration will be with freshbooks and such.

Basecamp 3 brings with it an epic change list... though not all the features are unanticipated. You can apply for early access here.

This does look really great. Almost makes me wish we didn't ditch Basecamp for Trello... but not really because oh how I love Trello.

Can't wait to try it out!

There are so many great ideas in BC3. I was really impressed by the list of features, can't wait to try it out. They have really interesting pricing strategy: - $29/month: Everything except clients - $79/month: Includes clients - $3,000/year: premium support No convoluted tier table.

This looks really great!

Both Basecamp 2 and Basecamp 3 feels very different from all other web apps I use. They have something I feel is missing from other apps in this segment (Asana, Trello). As a heavy BC2 user it will still be a hard decision to switch since our team has are using it on a daily basis and are so used to super quick navigation. The "Work can wait" and their whole notification system is killer! It will be really interesting to see if different Campfire chats integrated into to app will be better than a Slack/Basecamp or Slack/Trello combination.

I was an early user of Basecamp Classic, then left it for years in favor of other tools, and only in the past several months have gotten back into Basecamp 2. Definitely some things I love and things I don't. Looking forward to trying this out.

Exciting! We’ve been using Basecamp since 2006 and are huge fans. Over the years, as a team, we have tried a number of alternatives but we keep coming back to Basecamp. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s new in 3.0.

Unfortunately they've changed to just having one single $100/mo plan. It's great for medium or bigger teams, but as someone who works on their own or with one partner, the one price point doesn't work so great. It started out with tiered pricing a few years ago.

It's a really nice app for remote teams. The only downside is that it doesn't allow kanban alike canvas to manage projects.

Pros:

Great UX, works smoothly, great support from the company.

Cons:

Not Kanban allowed

One of the more complex apps for managing projects, a good one for keeping your team updated about the activity on each project/task.

Pros:

compex functionality, focused on team updates, easy files attachments, mobile apps

Cons:

could have more direct communication features

Johnathan Holland

Basecamp makes it much easier to manage the tasks your remote team is doing in a clean UI so that you get a good view of what is happening in the organizing. Amazing product!

Pros:

Basecamp is an incredible way for teams to stay organized with their weekly, monthly or longer term tasks/projects.

Cons:

I found it was better for development to use Trello so the rest of the team is organized in Basecamp and development is in Trello.

We are actually using v2 and I'm really looking forward to use v3! :)

Basecamp is a good solution for managing projects. It allows assigning multiple people to tasks, track project progress. What I like the most it is a possibility of communication with the client from the system. We're happy to recommend it at picksaas.

I use it to manage small project with 2-3 teammates. Its not very smooth and fluid in terms of experience. Its just good for adding todo lists and chatting. But then adding files to it or even creating a text file and then editing it feels so outdated.

Use it with my team as a daily driver. I'm more than happy and waiting for version 4
