immensely proud for the whole team of Baresquare!
Congrats on launching GA4 migration Gap Hunter! I'm excited to see all the features it offers to make the migration process easier. Let's see how it boosts our analytics performance!
@ikiok - Congrats on the launch! It's exciting to see a tool that simplifies the GA4 migration process. Quick question for you - how does Gap Hunter handle custom dimensions and metrics when identifying data gaps between Universal Analytics and GA4?
@salil_sethi thank for the question! great discussion starter!
To make this app as universal as possible, we currently only support Users, Pageviews, and Transactions.
looping @christos_christou1 who can discuss all day about dimensions and metrics!
thanks @ikiok@salil_sethi The three metrics we currently support (Users, Pageviews, and Transactions) are comparable between UA and GA4. So detecting a gap between them might point to an implementation error.
On the other hand, it's harder to know if other metrics will be comparable for *every* website (like the three I mentioned about). As we wanted to avoid raising "spammy" alerts (for gaps that are not really gaps) we help it simple for now.
Having said that, we'd be glad to update our app based on community feedback!
We were already thinking of a version that considers Device Category.
I can also imagine having a configuration where the user can choose dimensions or metrics from UA and match their GA4 counterpart.
@salil_sethi what you you think about these two ideas?
Congrats to the team on this launch!!!
I am glad we are able to help users with the urgent pain of migrating UA to GA4.
Start using it for free today and let us know what you think!
Digital analytics practitioners are rushing to complete & QA their GA4 implementations ahead of July. This is a great tool that can help easily spot any gaps between GA4 and Universal Analytics - plus it gives recommendations on possible root causes for any discrepancies found. Excited to use this especially for analysts that manage multiple GA accounts ;)
A really useful tool for anyone who's looking to make the switch from Google Analytics to GA4. The ability to easily identify gaps and discrepancies in your data could be incredibly helpful in ensuring a smooth transition. I also appreciate the integration with Google Tag Manager, which could save a lot of time and effort. I'm curious to know if there are any plans to expand this tool to include other analytics platforms, or if it will primarily focus on GA4 migration.
@mashaplotkina_quinky this tool will stick to the GA4 migration.
However, we are planning to release more tools in the future, with different functionalities.
What use case or analytics platforms do you have in mind?
P.S. Good luck with your launch! š
