A super handy tool for people having lots of meetings and not using tools like Calendly. I just tried it and it works perfectly!
@chris_gradwohl@jipvandervelde@_shahedk really small improvement for Available:
It would be great to be able to display the calendar from Monday to Sunday and not Sunday to Saturday
Congrats on launching!
๐๐ป Hey, Product Hunt!
I'm thrilled to share a little experiment I built with @chris_gradwohl and @jipvandervelde ๐
Available is a Chrome Extension that allows you to easily share your calendar availability inside of your Gmail compose/reply view. The best partโโit pastes the times as plain text.
I've been a user of various calendar scheduling tools in the past, but always felt awkward sending a branded widget or URL to my recipient asking them to book time on *my* calendar. Especially if I was the one asking for their time.
I've been using this extension for a few weeks and it has saved me quite a bit of time by not having to switch between Gmail and my calendar tabs every time I'm coordinating a meeting request!
Excited to share this with y'all. If you have any questions/run into bugs, feel free to DM me on Twitter (@_shahedk) or email me shahedkhan30@gmail.com :-)
So, I've used the tool now.
love this but it does half of the job. Following things could be improved:
- adding time availability for folks in the recipients timezone
- adding a way to automatically show the "availability of the both users"
Great product guys!! How different is this from the Mixmax calendar book in gmail that allows you drop in time slots and if a users clicks on it you both get invites?
I tested it out, and I couldn't believe it was already existing in Gmail compose screen.
Brilliant tool.
Would love to insert a link for the recipient to select the timeslot and book a meeting themselves as well (in the next version).
Have been using this the past week and I'm in love.
I did have some issues trying to book times that don't start at the beginning of the hour (i.e. I might be free from 1:30 - 2:30 but the interface only lets me book time from 1:00 - 2:00)
Been test using this for a few weeks now. Just so happy to see someone working to fill the gap that Sunrise left when MSFT acquired it. Love that you can easily switch the meeting lengths and fire over options after a quick select+insert. Congrats @_shahedk and thanks for being so responsive.
I was so excited to use it but unfortunately it only supports your primary calendar, Its only useful to me if I can load up my personal, family, and work calendars...
@_shahedk - this is amazing. Your problem analysis is spot on . . . particularly about the optics of asking someone to book time on Calendly when you are asking for their time.
GREAT WORK!
promising product!
What would be super cool is the option for the recipients to book a convenient slot. once the slot is booked, no risk to double up with another invitation sent to someone else. available would be a great 1-0-1 booking tool. I guess the following step then would be to make it work the same for multiple participants.
Also, i wonder what is the link between Available and North technologies, Inc.
@_shahedk Thanks so much for building this, exactly what I was looking for.
However, the extension stopped working for me as it seems to have lost the connection to my calendar. Any way I could reconnect the two?
Also, feature request: would be cool to automatically insert a blocker/"hold event" for suggested times. I assume, however, that automatic deletion of those would not work.
This product is a huge time saver as a Technical Recruiter who schedules a lot of interviews. With tools like Calendly, it's almost impossible to control when someone chooses to book a slot, and it's common to end up with too many back-to-back calls. Available allows me to have control over my calendar again and removes the need to toggle back and forth between the email and the calendar to provide available times.
Dying to try this out. Is it possible to connect it to 2 different gmail accounts even though when I send out the email I am only using it for 1? I want it to know my personal and work calendar availability.
I loved using Available. A lot of my work requires back n forth with customers and I hate switching between my email and calendar to get visibility. I tried the product and love the fact that it automatically places availability into the body of the email. It's a simple solution for a 10 year old problem. Thanks, Shahed!
Awesome product. I have used many calendar scheduling tools being in sales and none of them are as easy and efficient as this product! Saves so much time when trying to schedule demos or any meeting. I love it!
