@duyhtq I bought yesterday, I'm now typing while standing **today**. The shipping was INCREDIBLY fast. Assembly took ~40 mins or so. Really easy. I got the legs for my existing surface for only $400. So awesome. Thank you.
@duyhtq @autonomous My birthday is coming up and it gives me a reason to make big purchases. I cannot wait to order this. This is the desk I've been looking for! I think the pricing is reasonable because desks in this space (minus the AI/Personal Assistant) are extremely expensive. I love this @duyhtq

Oh my god, this is AMAZING! The future is here ladies and gents! I only wish it was much cheaper. If it was around $300, i would have invested in it for my office. Maybe in the future...
@diligentdil dilyar... you can save money by DIY. get our platform kit. a lot of people buy the kit to use with existing tops (even doors!)

@duyhtq Hey there! That is superb as well! What a great idea/addition to your product! However, the price is still fairly high, and I hope as your company grows, the price can be lowered. For start up companies to invest that much for their employees/managers is a little too much. Perhaps only have the height adjusting feature only with the desk, and nothing else for office uses? I image things like changing temperature, playing music etc.. won't be used in offices too often...
@diligentdil hey dilyar... i hear you. unfortunately we went as far as we could on this product. similar product on the market is sold at $1,500 - $3,000. we cut it down to under $500 after months of hard work and years of experiences in furniture making and technology.
if you look at this product, even taking out all the smart features, it's still a fairly complex product (we try to make it seem simple for UX reason but it's actually fairly complex).
1. you have to get a powerful dual motors (that are both powerful and quiet!)
2. you have to work with industrial grade metal frame (no one wants a desk that breaks down after 3 months) and you have to pick the right powdercoated finish (scratch-free).
3. you have to source eco-friendly wood / bamboo top materials (and kiln dry to the right temperature so it doesn't warp over time)
4. you have to invest a lot for packaging as the desk weights about 120 lbs. shipping 120 lbs safe and sound is not easy!
5. you have to spend time and engineering resources to write the solid firmware / software.
6. and thounsands of other things like.... sourcing power plugs for 20+ different countries we're shipping to.
if you look at the cost of a "regular desk" on the market today, it's already around $300-$400.
this is a very small upgrade, but the benefits is a lot more.

I was an original backer of this desk on Indiegogo. Unfortunately, my desk arrived damaged and I am still waiting on a replacement to arrive. However, the desk quality is really great and the price point is still exceptional compared to other options. The support team was also very responsive and polite with handling my return.

@duyhtq I'm gonna reach out. my replacement desk was wrong (again) and damaged (again) love the product, but can't actually assemble it without the right parts!

@koridhandy at some point you have to upgrade your office desk as your body can't just keep going 8-10 hours a day sitting at a desk. i personally had a back pain problem a few years ago and i had no choice but switched to a standing desk. why not upgrade now and prevent the problem earlier rather than fix it later?

@kaitlin_anne_haynes We had an order in our inbox. It dropped out. When we added it back, we didn't get the special discount. We emailed customer service a bunch of times during the holidays but I guess you guys were out. When I finally got the hold of someone today, they were like "tough luck."
My personal opinion is that small businesses like mine and yours are based on good customer service and word of mouth. There is no downside to being flexible.

Hey are these guys for real? Been trying to email Justin about the discount and no response. Just tried their customer service and they were extremely rude. Can someone recommend another company that is more easy to work with?

Can't wait to upgrade my ikea hack desk! Compared to what's on the market, the quality & "smart" features of SmartDesk made this a truly apples to oranges decision. Excited to see their product line continue to grow too.

Dang, I didn't realize how pricey standing desks are when your office doesn't buy them for you
@bryantpeng i had the same concern when i bought my standing desk a few years ago. most of the standing desks back then were around $2,000. today, they are still around $1,500 or so. and their quality was just shitty. so we decided to build our own.
our desk is under $500. it's 1/3 or 1/4 of other standing desks on the market. in case you don't know, our desk price is even lower than the flimsy ikea standing desk. but our desk quality is way superior and even better. you can see the customer feedback here on our kickstarter campaign. almost everyone around the world loves the product.

I cancelled my order as did many other disgruntled customers after our promised ship dates kept getting pushed back month after month. Delaying orders for MONTHS at a time is just amateur hour -- if you don't have the products, don't tell customers you do. (And not understanding how shipping from China works is not a valid excuse).
@mikeeshattuck the other thing you want to consider is the "max load". i believe the last time i looked at ikea desk the max load was about 150 lbs. our "max load is 360 lbs".
with a 360 lbs load, you can fit 3 - 4 monitors (like my setup) and a tons of things on the desk without worrying about its not be able to go up and collapse.
