A $400 digital picture frame and only $60 goes to charity?! Much much more should be going back to the charity for that cost.

I can totally appreciate the goal and the charity aspect but it would have been better for all parties if you had made 1000 frames, charged a reasonable price for the frame of say $ 199, or even better 2500 frame at $ 149 [still a low volume as compared to how many millions of products are sold].... You would have ended up giving away to charity way more and allowed people who don't earn $ 80k - $ 300k on up to be able to participate... :(

In support of World Water Day, Aura Frames has partnered with charity: water to create a limited edition, crystal blue, smart digital picture frame with a goal of raising both awareness and funds for a truly important cause. World Water Day was created to bring attention to the growing water crisis that currently faces 663 million people living without access to safe, clean water; the most basic necessity. Every $1 invested in clean water yields $4–$12 in economic returns. Aura will produce 500 limited-edition frames engraved with a production number. For every limited-edition frame sold, Aura will donate $60 to charity: water. Aura’s $30,000 in donations will fund three hand-dug wells giving clean water to three communities in need. Each month Aura and charity: water will automatically release a collectable image that will be pushed to the frame, helping to continue the story and keep Aura users connected to the cause of clean water. Access to clean water is perhaps the single most powerful tool for sparking economic growth that humanity has ever known. When a community gets access to clean water, it can change just about everything; improve health, increase access to food, grow local economies, and help kids spend more time in school. Only 500 frames have been produced, each with their production number etched into the back, so get yours before they run out.
