Arc is a browser that promotes organization and concentration. It is flexible and able to adapt to the most specific individual needs. As they say on the homepage, "Arc is your breathing space on the web. Are you ready to ditch the old internet?"
I'm using Arc for about a half year now. The transition from Sidekick browser (another Chromium-based) was not pretty smooth since now I don't have topbar and have to use hotkeys. But in one week I mastered everything I need and now Arc is my main daily app. I deleted all Electron / Browser-based apps and they are just tabs now!
Great job team! Can't wait for your Internet Computer 🤫
@milof I've seen a video made by The Browser Company and they say It'll come soon! I'm also looking a lot forward to seeing Arc for Windows! Probably we will see it this year.
@evrard_comte@chrismessina I am not sure why this is even a thing on Product Hunt, randomly hunting and launching products without coordinating it with the makers.
@evrard_comte@philipptemmel_ I'll do it sometimes — but 99% of the time I try to reach out to the makers first to get their approval and coordinate with them.
Arc was originally hunted six months ago, also unofficially, and didn't do well. This time it did better — but it's still not publicly available.
Really eager to try this. I have been searching for this kind of browser for a long time.
Also, a quick question, is it based on some open-source project or is it made from scratch?
Good Luck 🚀
I’ve been using Arc for quite some time now, replaced Chrome as my main browser. This is truly a great product Also love the attention to detail from the team.
I'm a heavy Chrome and Android user, was even exclusively using ChromeOS for nearly a decade. Well, until Arc...
Arc is nothing short of amazing, somehow it got me to purchase a MacBook for the first time in my life, and uninstall Chrome. It's now what I use exclusively. So if anyone is on the edge, give it a shot.
Actually wrote a post all about the most enjoyable features of Arc and where it's headed (potential for an amazing multiplayer mode):

Thank you to the entire team at Arc for thinking differently and building something fresh and new 🔥
As a designer I've been waiting for a better browser for ages, switched 95% of my browsing to Arc a few months ago and I've found myself much more organised and keeping up with more things daily. One of the most impactful products for me in 2022. Love the human approach over revenue growth, hope it'll stay that way! Congrats on the launch and can't wait to see you grow more!!
Is it ever possible to add MacOS keychain support to it? Or is it strictly limited to Safari and MacOS apps? This is a huge deal for some of my colleagues and requires me to do extra steps each time I need to create a new account somewhere.
Just stopping by to mention I've been using Arc since July 2022. This was a tough transition because I absolutely despise Google Chrome and Safari solves a lot of my pain points. But after half a year, I don't think I could ever go back to not using Arc. Spaces, profiles, library of extensions, boosts, tiny quirks that exponentially increase the efficiency at which I do things; it has it all.
This is a super ambitious project. But more important is that this project is super needed and important now, when Chrome has basically killed all its competition using all the dirty tricks there are.
Good luck.
Have been a heavy user for the past 2 months.
PROs:
- Love the spaces and separation of cookies for various purposes (work, personal, client etc.)
- CMD + K command line and quick actions
- Side-bar is a topic that many are torn between but I like it.
CONs:
- It eats CPU like a mofo
- Your bookmarks are not really bookmarks. If you decide to export or move back you'll have to do it 1by1
- I don't use easels and a lot of other features that seem to have a lot of focus in dev.
I'm using it for a month or so. Spaces connected with profiles are OP! Option to migrate from Chrome etc. is also sweet. Library (handy space with your downloads, notes etc.) is also a nice addition. The only thing that is preventing me from switching to it is a lack of a developer-mode or something similar, I really miss my F12 shortcut to open DevTools. That's the only minus I can come up with. Really. Great work team!
@jack1913 I'm pretty sure F12 was a redundant shortcut for dev tools created by Windows, but it was never actually the standard shortcut for developer tools. Not on my computer right now, but pretty sure: [CMD] + [Opt] + [ i ] (fixed) has been the actual standard shortcut for that if you'd like to build up that muscle memory.
@alexhbass you’re right. Once I wrote that comment I checked the shortcuts in settings and was able to change it to F12. As I love my function keys. 😜 btw. Standard shortcut is CMD OPT I
Arc took ~4 seconds to win me over when I launched it for the first time July last year. I made it my default browser in August. I couldn't tell you the last time I had Chrome open. Arc is not just a little bit better than other browsers, it feels like it belongs in the MoMa.
My single piece of advice for Arc: Very soon after you download and launch it you'll find yourself staring right at the 'auto-close inactive tabs' setting in preferences, and its 'after 24 hours' default trigger a slight anxiety in you. Your intuition will be to make it longer—Don't! Just, give it two weeks, I promise, it'll click.
Have been using arc for 6 months and can comfortably say this is my main browser. Arc makes web looks like a native app. Also their PiP window is wonderfully design
I've been beta-testing this for a while, and it's fantastic. There are still some significant system resource usage issues, but the whole approach is innovative but familiar.
