Hello Product Hunt community! I'm Pavel, the founder of Grymala, and I'm thrilled to introduce ARuler - our latest innovation in the App Store. Today, we all follow the continuous development of the technology that augments and simplifies our lives. I really believe that the augmented reality technology that we use in our products is capable of: 1. Improving the efficiency of measurements with the help of devices. 2. Сreating projects and editing them. 3. Increasing user comfort through the use of AR tools. 4. Increasing accuracy and efficiency of work. 5. Reducing time and labor costs for various measurements. On that note, we are pleased to introduce you to ARuler! ARuler harnesses the power of augmented reality to transform your device into a precise, easy-to-use measuring tool. We've worked hard to ensure that ARuler is not only accurate but also intuitive, making it perfect for professionals and enthusiasts alike. With the app you can: - Tape measure linear sizes in cm, m (meter), mm, inches, feet, yard; - Dimension via tape measure distance from device camera to a fixed point on the detected 3D plane; - Meter via tape room measurement and area of the house; - Generate a room plan projection for drawn objects and exports; - Allow to tape measure size of 3D objects; - Find out the height of any object or person; - And more. I'm eager to hear your feedback and insights as we strive to improve continually and innovate. Try ARuler today and experience the future of measuring! Wish you happy hunting!

@pavel_prybytak congrats on the launch! What is the difference with the built-in app that comes with iOS?
Pavel Prybytak
@guillegette Our app has more tools - not only line, heigth and rectangle (like in the built-in app that comes with iOS ) - but also tools to measure arbitrary geometry, both 2D and even 3D! Polyline, polygon, wall, cube, heap - you name it. Another difference is that it is possible to store screenshot of the measurement to the Archive (separate folders can be created for convenience). Plus there is a feature to create sketch plan (where all dimensions are drawn schematically), what can be usefull for room plan creation or similar need.

@pavel_prybytak that sounds amazing! Like could I draw lines with the app that could then create a 3d representation of it? Lilke if I measure a box, could be really cool if then I can keep and manipulate that 3d file. Not sure if makes sense what I am saying. But anyway, love all the ither festures, downloading now!

@pavel_prybytak Awesome idea 💡 Looking forward to using it in the real world and looking forward to continual improvement of the ARuler on your 2024-2029 Roadmap.

Good afternoon! My name is Dzmitry, I'm CTO at Grymala and I'm glad to share the ARuler app with Product Hunt community! At the end of 2023 we've invented our vision of how actually it should looks like, I mean the concept of a digital "Ruler" that uses the most modern technologies as Augmented Reality, Computer Vision, Point Cloud Analysis, High Performance Computing, etc. So the "canonical" AR Ruler was defined and an active development has been initiated! In just a few months, the Grymala' iOS team, doing their best, was able to release a major update, where we implemented many of our ideas and lay the foundation for the future improvements: fully redesigned with 17 different tools (including those which use LIDAR sensor), the application architecture has undergone an almost complete "reassembled". Our concept has begun to “materialise” and we're happy with how it is working out for us. While in the process of active development, we are passionate about continuing to improve the application and bring it into line with the technologies that have emerged over the past two years and which are relevant at the beginning of 2024. So, already from now you're able to test ARuler on iPhone, and notice the fact the future is coming. Striving to create something what might be categorised as a new generation of measuring tools, we’re going to give the opportunity of replacement physical instruments like an ordinary measuring tape or some specific (e.g. laser distance meter) to innovative smartphone’ software. Having inside powerful enough hardware, newest iPhones or Android phones in couple with the common power of modern Computer Vision and Machine Learning algorithms, provide us to the nearest future, whereas users can measure anything they want for dimensions estimation... staying at the one point, just keeping their phones in hands, very fast and useful way, together with ARuler you would be able taking measurements through smartphone’s camera with an appropriate precision. Stay connected and follow ARuler updates to see and try how technologies is coming and change our life!

I may say that ARuler - a universal application that everyone should have, whether you're a professional or not📱

Though the one negative aspect is there’s only a 3-day 🆓trial. Unfortunately I cannot justify paying a subscription. Would you be offering a lesser featured iOS app usage for $0 USD? If not, why would you launch on PH without offering something for the loyal PH audience?

Definitely a very useful app to use on an everyday basis!
