I'm hoping this becomes popular, the way medical research is currently done seems pretty antiquated so this could be a step in the right direction

As a privacy enthusiast I'm still gonna politely decline, but hey, at least Apple is asking for your participation. Google decided to scrap "Don't be evil" and ask for forgiveness rather than permission: https://www.wsj.com/articles/goo... Tim Cook has already stated that Apple's greatest contribution to humanity will be in the health space, and it looks like this is a step in that direction.
