Hey product hunters! Iโ€™ve decided to launch App Finder today quite spontaneously, since I think that all essential functionality is now implemented and working quite well. I believe that it is now the best tool for everyone who needs to find the best Android apps for some purpose, or apps with specific features. Also, I think that it can be great for the discovery of games. This is due to its comprehensiveness and several unique and innovative features that set it apart from the Play Store search and other app search engines: * With 3,700,000+ indexed apps and games and local data for all 200+ countries / regions supported by Google Play, it is probably the most comprehensive third-party search engine for Android apps. * It offers reliable advanced keyword search with all usual search operators and some special ones, for example to require words in title or summary. As I have shown with many detailed examples, App Finder consistently returns significantly more relevant results than the Play Store search and alternative app search engines. * * It has filters for all important parameters (e.g. for apps without ads, for free / paid apps, for apps with / without in-app purchases, for user rating, number of ratings and downloads, update date and release date, price range and in-app price range, age rating). * It has a highly optimized relevance sort, and systematic sort options (user rating, number of ratings, release date). * All essential data is shown directly in, including a unique visualization of the rating distribution. * The result list also contains short descriptions and screenshots that can be scrolled and scaled using pinch-to-zoom. * It shows world-average ratings for apps without country-average ratings, and has the option to use world-average ratings for filter and sort. This is highly important to make high-quality apps discoverable that don't (yet) have a local rating in the user's country, since country-average ratings are available for only a fraction of the apps for which world-average ratings are available (for example, about 1/3 for the US, 1/7 for the UK, 1/28 for Ireland, and 1/44 for Laos). * Planned features include: * A web interface * Indexing of alternative Android app stores * Indexing of iOS apps * Support for other languages * AI-based natural-language search as alternative App Finder is available as an app itself on Google Play (see link above), a web interface is coming soon. All essential features are available for free, without ads, without limitation, without sign-in. Some advanced features require a small in-app purchase. The lifetime-license is available for just $24 (instead of $36) until Oct 31! * See the research that is preliminary published on XDA Forums (link above and on skyica.com)

@konrad_sx Impressive launch for App Finder! It seems like a comprehensive and user-friendly tool for discovering Android apps and games. The extensive filters, reliable keyword search, and optimized relevance sort make it stand out from the crowd. The planned features, including a web interface and support for other languages, sound promising. Looking forward to exploring this and finding the best Android apps with ease. Congratulations, Great job! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ“ฑ

@maria_anosova Only now I saw you comment (overlooked the "View 1 more reply"). Thanks for your suggestion! I had hoped the UI would already be seen as "smooth". I put much effort in making the sliders, menus, result list scrolling, image zooming, UI scaling, and data and image loading smooth. Did you notice any issues with these things? What improvements do you have in mind?

This sounds promising. A particular challenge I currently face is finding apps and games that are suitable for children and meet their needs. It seems to be yielding much better results than the existing solutions.

@olga_mirkovic_maksimovic Great to hear that this is your imression!

nice, hopefully this is a mobile app that we can all use to game it! Can it make recommendations as well? I think that would be helpful for me because the effort of finding the next game to play is actually pretty steep.
Konrad S.
@kingromstar Currently it makes "recommendations" based on the keywords / phrases, filters, and sort options. An advanced "similar to" feature is planned, that will be able to give recommendations based on installed or other selected apps. AI-based natural-language search is also planned.

@leslie_tucker2 Thanks for your detailed comment! Regarding "insights into trending apps, emerging developers..." I must note that display of and filters for recent downloads and ratings are not yet implemented (but will be soon). Also I want to make it clear that Skyica is not affilated with the commenter.

Finally another app finder than google play store.Google play mostly dosent have the apps that I want to download so I hope this app finder does.really great for people like myself who like testing or get bored of apps or games and continually download new apps and games.

@m_abdullah_zafar Thanks for your comment. Currently App Finder only has apps that are available on Google Play, but can find many apps that are not returned by the Google Play / Play Store search (unless you enter the exact name / developer), and also apps that are hidden by the Play Store because they were "made for earlier versions of Android" (many of which work well on current Android versions). Alternative app stores will be indexed soon!

App Finder is the best search engine to find apps in Playstore. For example, yesterday I was looking for an app to display the smartphone's screen refresh rate in real time. I simply used the word "Refresh Rate" in the App Finder search (with quotes, in English and no filter). I was immediately shown apps that I could view with all relevant information (last update, with or without ads, developer, app preview with description and images). I was then able to access the respective app directly in the Playstore using the โ€œPlaystoreโ€ link and found what I was looking for pretty quickly. For the example mentioned, I found the app Screen Refresh Rate Tool, which is ad-free and offers real-time display of the screen refresh rate as a service that you can start (so that the display runs in the background) or stop if you don't have this information required in the notification area. If I had looked directly in the Playstore for an app that offered this function, I would still be looking for it now and wouldn't find it. Therefore, I have to give a clear recommendation for the App Finder app. A very cool app!

@tecalote Thank you for this very nice example! This is exactly how App Finder is supposed to work, and it is great to hear that it does, for real-world cases.

So cool to see this on ProductHunt! ๐ŸŽ‰ I've been using App Finder for a few months, and it's by far the easiest way for me to find new apps (I primarily use it for finding Android games). I love the many filters and advanced search options. Hope you'll keep it up, as there's nothing quite like this out there.
