@pronkin_ Hi, congratulations on the 2.0 launch! In Nov 22 https://community.anytype.io/t/w... anytype communicated that the web clipper was being delayed due to reprioritisation - would you be able to share about where that sits on the roadmap now? It's a very important piece of the puzzle for me. :)
@pronkin_ @jonzhan We will definitely present Anytype webclipper in the near future; we have already started development. It is challenging to run webclipper with a client-first application and provide a high-quality user experience, but we are excited to do so. The coolest part is that it also will be open sourced, so community can help us improve it
This is legit, and I would obviously say this as one of Anytype's first investors. But I was also one of their first users in the pre-alpha phase a while back. I distinctly remember how that version crashed and took down the entire office network. Today, I'm genuinely impressed, and very proud of @pronkin_ and @sharipova and @charmandro and @anton_barulenkov and @requilence and @yasyuk .
I've just downloaded and synced a bunch of notes across my Mac, Pixel phone and iPad - and it worked like a dream. Now if you can just fix the onboarding process and simplify it, I'll be able to get my mom to use it too...
@jagsingh Haha, yep! That was when our P2P stack thought routers were just speed bumps. Whoops! 😅 Now we're making sure to take care of them.

Today, we are introducing an all-in-one app that is used for project management, strategic documents, daily notes, task management, collections of books, articles, and other interests, personal CRM. All of which are end-to-end encrypted, work offline, sync in a p2p way, and are blazingly fast. Anytype no-code interface allows to create anything visually - from web pages to data-bases and sites.
We designed the architecture of anytype to provide creators with peace of mind. Everything you are creating is yours - it’s encrypted, you control the keys, the code is open source, so anyone can verify its workings. Additionally, you get some very cool features from the box - it works on all devices, these devices can sync in peer to peer way, and everything works offline without a loss of capabilities.
This architecture is enveloped into a tool that is both powerful and fun to use. At the heart of anytype is a graph of objects - that allows to interconnect all your objects and also is a universal language for all spaces.
Anytype was built as a hope. That if we put our ethos, our values as the foundation of its architecture we can deliver something meaningful for those of us who cherish the dreams of a different world.

Anytype for me started with pure curiosity. In my school days, the internet was both costly and slow. I found myself building local networks with friends and crafting chat apps using raw TCP/IP. Fast forward to today, the landscape of app development has shifted. Many developers now lean on cloud platforms, supposed to hide from you the underlying technologies and challenges. However, this convenience comes at a cost: inefficiency, potential data breaches, and a loss of the data ownership.
At the same time, over the past two decades, customer hardware has evolved remarkably. We now have affordable and speedy mobile internet, as well as smartphones with 1TB of storage. Given these advancements, the appeal of the cloud should have waned. Yet, many of us remain dependent on cloud providers and the tools that are tethered to them.
So for me it was the challenge to build something useful, while using the technologies consciously in an efficient and truly secure way.
When we began this journey, many said we were crazy – and perhaps they were right 😅! We encountered numerous challenges and had to address issues across the entire tech stack, rather than just focusing on user-facing features. However, this approach enriched our technical understanding and led us to more balanced solutions that remained true to our original principles.
I'm so proud of Anytype team which made it possible and excited that it's now open for everyone.

I was hoping it was something far from what it actually is; another notes and task app.
@chrisshort It may seem similar to other note and task apps at first glance. Beyond just notes and tasks, it allows you to create types and relations that mimic real-world classifications. Think of it as creating your own database or knowledge graph, where you define the parameters. Plus, with E2E encryption, a local-first design, and being able to check the source-code, it prioritizes speed, data ownership and privacy.
But what truly sets Anytype apart is our vibrant community. We have a myriad of users who share insights, provide feedback, and actively participate in shaping the future of Anytype. We're not just building a product; we're building it together as a community :)
@simoelalj, right now we have the local API which was designed with our own clients in mind. For example, it has a lot of focus on the block-based commands and real-time events. So, it may be challenging to build some kind of simple integration using this API, and we don't publicly highlight it. Still, we would like to hear what you want to do with the API, so we can shape it in a way our users would enjoy building on. I don't like companies which monetize my data. It is so cool that we have privacy-first products. Anytype rocks!!!

Very nicely done. While I resonate with the privacy-first messaging, I would advise talking about the model you enable where documents and thoughts can be interlinked, very similar to how it's done in our brains in real life. I believe Roam Research did a decent job at it, but it never really worked. All the best team :)

Awesome app. I would like an easy way to have a folder-like structure. With the lateral widgets, it's closer though.
@angelcontable Glad to hear that widgets are helping you with your workflows! Collections (also introduced in the last release) are meant to function similarly to folders, with the exception that objects can exist in multiple collections at the same time. Would love to know if you've already tried them out - if yes, would be cool to hear your feedback on how we can improve the experience
I've been a heavy user of Anytype at closed Alpha!!! Great product, finally I’ve replaced Notion and many other apps! So happy that it's public now! Finally, there is an app that protects my digital freedom!
I keep my neverending to-do list in Anytype. Syncs on all devices + is offline-first + I own my data 🤟🏻. With my text-only style, I'm far away from filling the remote backup node that Anytype provides to users (but additional options would be cool!)
