Would be awesome if this integrate with password manager like 1password so it auto generate the email and password at the same time. No need to remember anything at that point, just trust the password manager. Is this something doable today via hacks or in the plans?
Will Browning
@copypastaa That's a great idea that someone else has mentioned to me previously but about BitWarden. I agree, it would be super convenient. I guess it would be down to the password manager integrating the feature using the AnonAddy API. I'll look into this further shortly.

@willbrowningme Thx for the reply! I signed up. Looks good so far, I really wish that there was a safari extension as I dual use Firefox / Safari. I might look into the API doc and hacking that out this thanksgiving weekend ha!
Will Browning
@copypastaa That's great, yes that would be awesome. I'm not sure if Safari extensions are similar to Firefox / Chrome, I'll look into it.

This is exactly what I've been looking to use for a while! I've been meaning to build something similar to this for my personal email, so glad I don't have to anymore.
Will Browning
@jcsnv That's awesome! Thanks Jose, if you can think of any ways it could be improved just let me know.

Signed up for the pro plan. Very curious to try it out. :) One suggestion - on the website, "The extension is available for download on Firefox and Chrome!" has links to firefox and chrome web app stores, but the links aren't really highlighted. It would be useful if they were and also if it were available in the settings area.
Will Browning
@prajwalrao Thanks a lot! Let me know if you have any questions at all. Thanks, I'll make them stand out a lot more. I've been staring at the site so much it's really hard to see it from a third-party perspective, so feedback like this is extremely useful!

Congrats on the launch and on the product. And another product based on Laravel ;-) That's awesome. And it’s open source! What more could we want. I'll definitely try this one out.
Will Browning
@djaiss Thanks Régis! Working with Laravel, Vue and Tailwind just makes the developer experience so enjoyable! Just the CORS stuff for the API that was a bit of a headache, haha.

This is EXACTLY what I’ve been waiting for! ❤️ But... Any reason why the Pro plan has such a low bandwidth limit, anonymous replies and recipients? What happens if you want to route all your emails through and you keep in touch with more than 20 people, send attachments or have promotional emails with images, and reply to a lot of emails?
Will Browning
@abrupted Hi Alex, That's great, thank you! Do you mean the Free plan? The average email is about 76800 bytes (75KB), this is roughly equivalent to 7,000 words in plain text. So the 10MB monthly allowance on the Free plan would allow you to receive around 140 emails. The Pro plan's 500MB would be almost 7,000 emails which should be more than enough. The 20 recipients are your own real email addresses that you add to the site. For example you could have your personal email, work email, etc. These recipients are where emails will be forwarded to, you can change recipients for each email alias. On the Pro plan you can send 100 anonymous email replies to forwarded emails per day, the number of different email aliases you can have is unlimited. I hope that makes a bit a more sense, let me know if you have any more questions.
Alex Doda
@willbrowningme That's amazing! Makes sense! Is there a lifetime deal available?
Will Browning
@abrupted Not at the moment I'm afraid, I'll think about the pros and cons of this going forward.
Alex Doda
@willbrowningme One think that could really help with conversions is if on the upgrade page, you actually show the perks and compare plans vs. just showing their price points.
Will Browning
@abrupted that's a really good point, I did have this on my to do list but haven't got round to it yet. I'll make sure to add it next week!

Hi Product Hunt, I've been working on AnonAddy (short for anonymous email address) for the past few months with the vision of creating a privacy friendly, transparent and easy to use email forwarding service. AnonAddy protects your real email address from spam and allows you to identify who has sold your data by using a different unique email address for every website. You can create unlimited email aliases on the fly whenever you sign up to a new service. For example, if your username is johndoe, and you were signing up to Argos, you could enter argos@johndoe.anonaddy.com and the email alias will be created automatically in your dashboard as soon as it receives its first email, which will be forwarded to your real email address (Argos will not be able to see what this is). Here’s a highlight of some of AnonAddy’s best features so far: - Add your own GPG/OpenPGP key per recipient to encrypt all forwarded emails - Add Custom domains - Anonymously reply to forwarded emails - Generate UUID aliases that look like - 94960540-f914-42e0-9c50-6faa7a38... - Add multiple recipients per alias - Add additional usernames to compartmentalise your aliases - Browser extension for Firefox and Chrome - API New features are added regularly in response to user feedback. A coupon is available this week until Friday 29th November for 50% off your first year - BLACKFRIDAY50 Any feedback or suggestions are very welcome. Thanks, Will

Seriously great service. I'd underestimated how many times I give my personal email address out, so being able to use AnonAddy has helped me organise my inbox and reduce the amount of spam I have to deal with. The website is so nice to use, and it's open source and really affordable. Genuinely really grateful that this service exists!

I came across this product and had a go using it for a few days which has now turned into several months. It's been interesting to see which websites that I used my anonymous credentials for have sold/passed them onto other companies, turns out it's quite common. The additional privacy and security contributes to peace of mind when submitting personal email info knowing it's now totally anonymous. Easy to use as well with quick support on any issues.
Will Browning
@justin_robinson Thanks Justin, really glad you're finding it useful.

Toma Paro
Very cool product! It will be very interesting to see how it develops! It's a must if you are interested in protecting and managing your personal data! Looking forward to following this one!
Will Browning
@tommy_p Thanks a lot Toma! I'll be adding plenty of new features going forward.

My experience matches what I've read here. This is a great layer of privacy to email, something that people may not get at first. As others pointed out, with this kind of service, you will know who's selling your data, and to whom (knowing allows you distance yourself from companies that choose such practice). So, I've been using AnonAddy for a little over five months now (since they launched the service, I believe) and I'm very happy with it. Support just works, as every time I contacted them I got a reply that was actually helpful (nothing of that generic replies I see in other services I subscribe to - services that, because of such behavior, will get replaced soon). My experience has been so smooth up to the point I'm switching to AnonAddy (from a service I've been using in the last 5 years). Bottom line: It's reliable (have not seen "MIA" emails for instance), has great support, and the platform seems flexible enough to accommodate new functionalities (yes, there's room for improvement here and there, and that's a good thing really). Thank you for building this, and wish you all the success!
Will Browning
@pedrohagel Hi Pedro, Thanks a lot for your feedback and support! It really means a lot that you've put enough trust in AnonAddy to switch over from a similar service you've been using for so long.
Sam Robertson
Really useful product, privacy has become a concern for me over the last few months and AnonAddy was exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
Will Browning
@sam_robertson Thank you Sam.

The UUID aliases are great!
Will Browning
@erwin01 Thans, I plan to add random word alias soon too. eg. yellow.biker59@anonaddy.me etc.
James Tweed
This product is absolutely great. I have been using this now for a few months now and I've been able to find out EXACTLY who is leaking my email address. Whenever any new store/online retailer/website requires an email address to sign up to newsletters, points cards etc, I can create one and have all emails forwarded to my real address. As soon as I get spam I know exactly which alias they are sending to and can instantly delete it if necessary. Due to the fact that it is so easy to create a new alias, I can create a new one and update my details with retailers and BOOM. Zero spam but still get all of their messages.
Will Browning
@james_tweed Thanks a lot for your feedback James!

I finally chose SimpleLogin about a month ago mainly because they have their own official mobile (iOS) app and I liked the concept of directories. Nevertheless, I tested AnonAddy (free) and it is a great service!
