We designed and developed this idea with a friend in only 1 month, it's a niche market obviously, but we said to ourselves who cares, let's launch anyway! And it was a very rewarding project that opened new doors for us. For the technical part, for the website we use Laravel with its excellent management of asynchronous jobs and React + Tailwind, for the image generation part we use Stable Diffusion. @gregoryg Great app! With the popularity of anime I think it'll be more than niche. Did you set up all the cloud architecture yourself or are you using an API? Mainly asking because I'm currently working on a stable diffusion API (evoke-app.com) that's going to be pretty useful for those making SD apps or AI art apps in general. Congrats on your launch!

@richard_gao2 Thank you! Your API looks very interesting, I add it to my bookmarks I will surely need it one day! Currently we use Replicate with our own model on top of Stable Diffusion and some Python code, so they mainly provide the infrastructure to automatically scale and manage the pay as you go as well.

@gregoryg Thanks! We'll likely have lower prices than Replicate and also anime models as well. How long do you find the generations take with Replicate for anime? I see their non-base models for stable diffusion all take quite a while to produce an image.

@richard_gao2 Nice! Actually it's pretty fast with our model and code. Sometimes depending on the usage there is a cold start which can take one to two minutes, otherwise an image generation usually takes 5 seconds 😀

I think it could potentially be very useful for artists and animators. It could potentially save time and effort by automating certain aspects of the drawing and coloring process, allowing creators to focus on other aspects of the artwork.
