I was lucky enough to get an early version of Analog and it's fantastic. So simple. So thoughtful. And a great productivity system you can follow and won't let you get sucked down any social media app rabbit holes 😂 . I've been a huge fan of written to-do lists for years and Analog now makes those lists look great on my desk. Awesome job, Jeff!
Insta-backed!
Been using a 3x5 system for a while now and was dismayed at the holder options — this looks like a dream.
Please make an Ugmonk timer and Post-it Notes and my desk life will be complete. :)
Really dig this idea and with the quality of other Ugmonk products, I'm happy to support. Kudos on shipping the campaign Jeff! Good luck with production
Hey everyone 👋
I'm Jeff, the founder and designer of Ugmonk.com.
I've been working on Analog on and off for several years and am pumped to finally launch it into the world!
Even though it may appear quite simple at first glance, Analog has revolutionized the way I work. I've struggled with focus for as long as I can remember.
I use digital apps for capturing things, but I needed a way to pull things out of my apps and actually get them done.
All of the paper planners and productivity journals I tried felt like extra work, so I’d never get more than a few pages in.
I needed something simpler. So I decided to design my own system – which eventually became what you see here today.
Would love to hear your thoughts and/or questions.
Thanks!
- Jeff

Wow. This is incredible. My whole productivity system is analog... read most of the books you had stacked there... I'm excited to see you launch this. Congrats!
@ugmonk pretty cool idea, seems like merging the best aspects of sticky notes and a bullet journal.
A few question here:
- any chance to get the box closed or have some kind of case? Although this wouldn’t enable it to be used on the go, it should be great for people working both from home and from an office / shared space.
- how would i divide today, monthly and somewhen cards, so I can easily find what I need at the current point?
- what about foldable cards for the month? As priorities change over time, this could make it easier to manage superordinate tasks without the need of starting a new card.
- did you think about the possibility of having a companion app, similar to the bullet journal one?
Could be really helpful to note down tasks on the go.
If the app keeps them for 24h and then deletes them, it’s also non-cluttered at most points.
I‘m really looking forward to the release, I’d love to test if this system works for me ✌️
@leinadhorn Great questions.
- The card box works for taking them on the go but I *might* also have another surprise to reveal soon that solves this travel scenario even better ;)
- The metal divider provides a shelf for the Next and Someday cards to sit on above the Today cards. Here's a photo to explain ?
- Hadn't considered that, but that's an interesting idea to explore 👍
- For now, no digital app but I won't rule it out completely. Also something I'd need to do more thinking on to figure out if it ever makes sense. The idea of tasks disappearing is interesting but if I wasn't near a card to write them down, I see that causing more stress than it's worth.
Appreciate the thoughtful questions!
@ugmonk thanks for your answers, much appreciated.
I guess most people won’t feel the need for some sort of companion app, as you can use any simple notes app.
The advantage with the bullet journal companion app seems to be that you can already use the different symbols to it‘s easier to transfer the items to be notebook.
I just checked their app description on the App Store again, seems it’s 72h before „expiration“ of an item logged in there.
Seems to be enough for on the go or short trips, without the risk of having a massive list that you’ll never manually clean up yourself.
@leinadhorn Ah cool. That makes sense and it definitely a neat way to think about integrating digital without it being overwhelming. Will keep thinking on it.
This looks like a mix of Zettelkasten (Niklas Luhmann) + The Bullet Journal (Ryder Carroll). Not sure what to think of it yet... but looks like a good concept.
@tintim Thanks. Yes, I was definitely inspired by other systems and pulled in concepts that worked for me. I'm excited to see how different people use Analog and adapt it to how they work.
@ugmonk As a product manager who prefers writing to typing, I love how it captures the essence of Asana/Jira and put it in a physical form. Great stuff!
