@charleyma Hey Charley, thanks so much! :)
We both are suckers for productivity. I even build coco.so and quit my job for it.
The reason for this is honestly two-fold:
1. Showcase all these little hacks that we used to show our friends humble-bragging
2. More practically: start building a community around productivity → obviously to help coco succeed longer term.
Love it, so many things I didn’t know I needed to know - I remember be proud of discovering the drag space bar on iPhone, now I can share these amazing short cuts. Well done and thanks for sharing the journey on Twitter
Did you build the CMD-K spotlight command tool from scratch or did you use a library for that? If you used a library, what is it called? If not please make it one so I can grab it ASAP!! <3
@yogert96 Haha glad to hear your excitement for my poor programming skills. I will try to make it independent of the rest of the code and open source. Watch out 👀
@muellaire Aah, I saw that Notion used it and was always if there was a hidden meaning I just didn't get haha. Heard they explained it somewhere but couldn't find it.
👋🏽 Hey PH community :)
Meet productivity.so. @lukek and I are both productivity lovers. In my case this love even goes so far that I devote my entire time to building coco.so. (I guess you can tell, I have an affinity to .so domains hah)
productivity.so is a simple product that helps you discover nice shortcuts or hidden UX.
Our favorite is switching accounts in Gmail by swiping down on your avatar. But we gathered way more of those little tips, so you don't have to.
Another feature which we hope you are going to enjoy is our very own version of ⌘+K. For this launch you can already do a few actions. But we are going to expand them! :)
Long story short: check out productivity.so, sign-up for the email list and enjoy 2 hacks per week. Straight into your inbox. :)
💌 from Berlin to where ever you are.
Hey Michael, thanks so much for your opinion. I think it’s actually quite cool for a project that isn’t aiming to become scalable.
I agree that Neumorphism isn’t made for companies that have to have scalable design. But this project is so small that it was quite suitable.
BUT: I want to listen to users, so I’ll try to create a filter where you can turn off the neumorphisms.
input field would be cool to be able to suggest superpowers. Here are two(for Mac), that I think too few people know about:
1. You can add/change the shortcut for every Menu option for nearly every app by going to System Preferences>Keyboard>Shortcuts>App shortcuts
2. under System Preferences>Accessibility you can add a shortcut, which will read any marked text for you in high speed
@elmasryahmed haha thanks, glad you enjoy it! we somehow had to jump on the neumorphism hype train. if you want to check out the Figma file just visit our page → hit ⌘+K → figma and press enter :)
Great product! I find I'm always lazy with regards to learning shortcuts, this certainly might help. Also love the neumorphism design, I left a few comments for you here in context that might be useful to you - https://app.usebubbles.com/c4022.... Best of luck and congrats!
This would be amazing without the neuomorphic design, it puts me down and makes me click away...
...I reader that you had to jump in the neuomorphic design train, neumorphism is not useful, is not a trend, and is just not for a real project to be honest.
It suits more on Dribbble, and to make your shots cool.
But hey, is just my opinion and we all know opinions ain't facts.
Good luck guys !
@michael_andreuzza That's a very fair point you are making, Michael. I think it's not a question of production vs. Dribbble. The point is rather that Neumorphism scales very hard. For a side project it's amazing. If the plan would be to make this an entire company, it would be the wrong choice.
But your point is good. We are thinking of adding a ⌘+K filter to turn off the neumorphism :)
