These guys just launched their 2.0 on techcrunch today: http://techcrunch.com/2016/02/03... I have been following them closely since their launch, and wanted to share their new invite feature with you all. This is the only app that allows you to order and pay for sit-down lunch before arrival, and now it also lets you invite friends to “join” your table and order/pay on their own. Now your friends can seamlessly join you for lunch without the hassle of splitting the bill later. The team at Allset was nice enough to create a special promo code just for Product Hunt readers. Enter JACKSMITH in the app for $10 in credits then try them out in SF or NYC - and remember to invite a friend!

There is a Sacramento local app doing something like this that we use fairly often. It also includes discounts on the meal that change based on the restaurant's traffic and needs. We tend to look at it when we can't decide where to go for lunch or dinner.

@sacbookreviewer Hey Ross, Sounds like a cool app, would love to check it out. Can you share the name of it?

@stasmatv Requested. http://requestedapp.com/ I was playing with an idea like it, and they did it well enough I passed on doing anything else in field.

@sacbookreviewer Thanks, I will try it out

I've used it a number of times in SF - awesome app and great experience so far!

I previously worked for an app that tried to do similar with getting a drink at a bar. It was a couple of years ago and although sounded good in theory, didn't work practically. I think it makes more sense with food over getting disgruntled customers not getting their drinks if they've been waiting at the bar and you swoop in to get your own. Starbucks is doing this now though, so it also was a reflection on the team I was working with at the time ;) (the company is no longer active)

@bentossell Hey Ben! The app has had a great response so far, no disgruntled customers yet! Would love for you to try. And thanks for sharing your thoughts!

@stasmatv yeah it was no reflection on you! I joined that app because I loved the sound of the idea. But sadly the team was not there and we had some issues trying to convince bar owners because they liked talking to their customers and things like that. It's probably been a great idea to start in more tech-focused areas ;)

This new update completes our vision to a better lunch. Now customers can enjoy lunch with friends when each of them order and pay separately within one reservation, and the restaurants knows individual orders, so you have even a better experience. We'll be happy to hear any feedback you have!

Just used it and the UI is pretty great. Will see if the experience is as good in the restaurant in couple of hours:)

Just came back from the restaurant. Although the place was packed, we were seated immediately, served food 10 minutes later and done with our lunch within 25 minutes. The food was awesome by the way.

@ehevich Thank you! Appreciate your feedback!
Jack Smith
@ehevich which place did you try it at?

FInally diners with tight schedules can eat lunch at restaurants in under 30 minutes. No more waiting for table, food and check. No more having to choose between fast food, takeout and lunch-al-desko.
