Hey everyone! Since launching Dopt earlier this year, engineering and product teams have been using Dopt to effortlessly build onboarding and education into their products. We’ve collaborated with dozens of our customers to continue to build the best developer-first product adoption platform and today we’re excited to launch the biggest update to Dopt yet β€” Dopt Analytics! With Dopt you get: πŸ”€ A visual flow builder β€” Define user targeting, content management, and branching logic for your onboarding and education flows. πŸ› οΈ Simple and powerful SDKs β€” effortlessly build the flows in your product. You can use our pre-built, customizable UI components or your own. πŸ“ˆ Starting today, out-of-the-box analytics β€” understand how your flows are performing to fuel iterations and improvements. No analytics instrumentation required (you can also send Dopt events to external analytics platforms if you want). Understanding how your flows are performing is essential to creating flows that drive activation and retention, the most important metrics for B2B SaaS companies. Our flow Analytics answers questions like: - How many users completed the getting started checklist in the last 7 days? - When was the biggest drop-off during the create new chart call-out? - How did the initial setup conversion rate compare across versions 2 and 3? We designed Analytics to be simple and powerful: πŸ—ΊοΈ Easy to understand β€” the analytics is embedded into our visual flow canvas, making it super intuitive to understand. πŸ“ˆ Flow-level overview β€” see total users started, finished, and stopped and overall completion rates. πŸ“Š Individual step-level details β€” see which paths users take, step-level conversation rates, and drop-off (especially useful for checklists, tours and hints) We hope Dopt Analytics helps you make amazing product onboarding and education! If you're new to Dopt, you can sign-up for free . We’ll be in the comments all day, we’d love to hear what you think! πŸ™Œ

@phil_vander_broek Hi! Big congratulations from the entire team on this fantastic launch! Wishing your project continued growth and prosperity. We're eager to keep up with your journey on Twitter! Just followed!
Yura Turivny
πŸ‘ Impressive launch, team! Dopt Analytics offers a sleek solution for understanding user flows and boosting B2B SaaS metrics. How do you see it evolving in the future? πŸ€”
Phil Vander Broek
@yura_turivny thank you!! we're considering the idea of a "flow goal" where you could set what success looks like (such as an action) and then track that in addition to the flow conversion rates. There are also lots of opportunities for birds-eye monitoring, like "Which flow is performing the best / worst?" that we're excited about. We're also planning to continue enhancing our visual flow canvas to support more use cases like forms / surveys, triggering other flows, better targeting expressions, and timing. And of course our developer experience with docs and examples.

Building a PLG onboarding flow is hard πŸ˜… But knowing the high-friction areas makes it so much easier and faster to focus on the right stuff! Dopt enables this in no time, we love it!
Phil Vander Broek
Thanks @james_de_wasseige, it's been so great working with you and the whole Cycle crew! We wouldn't be where we are without all of the great feedback πŸ’ͺ
Steven Fabre
Great product. Excited to use it on our dashboard eventually! Congrats team!
Phil Vander Broek
@stevenfabre thanks, excited for you to use it too!

Congratulations on launching built-in analytics for Dopt! but if you plan to expand the analytics capabilities beyond onboarding flows - such as tracking usage of specific features highlighted in onboarding. That broader visibility would help fully optimize our learning content.
Alon Bartur
@sarvpriy_arya this actually covers any flow you build in Dopt, not just onboarding! People use Dopt to build engagement, education, announcement, upsell, cross sells, and a whole lot more!

This launch is special for me--I've worked in data tools for so much of my career, most recently at Amplitude. One of the cool parts of Dopt analytics is that, by powering your onboarding and education flows, we have an accurate representation of your users' journeys through your onboarding and education experiences. That means we can capture all of the data for you; you know it's 100% accurate and not susceptible to getting blocked by ad blockers or getting out of sync with what's in your product. This also lets us show you how many users follow each branch of your experiences right within your Dopt where you define your flows--no need to construct multiple funnels to understand what's going on. We think Dopt Analytics can help teams get a much quicker understanding of what's working and make it a lot easier to iterate quickly. We know a lot happens outside of Dopt, and we don't want to be a data silo, so we'll integrate with your analytics tool or CDP of choice and send all of this data downstream to them, server->server.
Rajiv Ayyangar
I’m really intrigued by a use-case specific analytics tool. Has it been tricky to integrate with existing analytics stacks?
Phil Vander Broek
@rajiv_ayyangar we currently integrate with Segment, Amplitude, Mixpanel, and Heap (and will be adding more!). The integrations are standard and straightforward, you simply need to give us an integration URL and API key and flip a switch in Dopt! Then we simply send all events about the flow and steps to the integration as "track" calls, like "flow_state_change" with properties about the flow like "flow_name" and "flow_state". This enables you to analyze Dopt events with all your other product events. A few areas we plan to enhance this: - Teams sometimes will have unique event naming and property practices, so we plan to make that more customizable. - Teams sometimes will also only want some events, so we plan to make that customizable too!
Congrats Team Dopt Analytics on your wonderful launch on Producthunt! It's a ground-breaking tool for agile decision-making and quicker iterations. Considering, a feature recommending personalized tweaks for optimizing the flow based on user behavior patterns could provide even more insights to users. Best regards and here is to an exciting journey ahead!
Alon Bartur
@manmohit thanks for the suggestion! we're definitely seeing people use analytics to understand where the biggest opportunities for improvements in their flow are!

shouldn't we direct the onboarding rather than watch what happens?
