AI Spend offers user-friendly cost tracking with a dashboard and notifications that passively monitors your usage and costs. The analytics and charts provide insights that help you optimize your OpenAI usage and avoid billing surprises.
π Hey ProductHunt, I'm excited to be back with a new tool for all the AI enthusiasts! As someone who's built a few AI products integrating with OpenAI, I want to keep track of my API costs and identify any instances of abuse or runaway apps.
There are tools where you can go and put in an API key to see your usage - but I wanted passive monitoring. So, I built AI Spend - an intelligent monitoring tool that synchronizes your API usage per model in cost, tokens, and requests in an encrypted database. This data is then presented to you in an easy-to-understand dashboard.
The best part? Even if you don't have time to dig into the dashboard, AI Spend sends you daily, weekly, and monthly notifications π of your spending (including some analytics), making it easy to stay on top of any changes in your API usage.
Using AI Spend, you can analyze cost trends, track which models you're using the most, and optimize the number of tokens you're sending with each request.
I've focused on making onboarding as quick and easy as possible, but I'd love your feedback on how to make AI Spend even better. Give it a try and let me know what you think; thanks! π
Honestly, this is underrated and underappreciated! Should have made product of the day, because I've literally been looking for something just like it! I can't track my own personal usage of all the AI tools I'm using, let alone that of the various teams I'm running for different projects. It gets to be a headache very quickly, and will only compound.
AI Spend looks like the perfect solution. Will update if I end up not liking it, but anything is better than nothing right now!
Congrats on the launch π This will be definitely life saver for the unexpected uses π OpenAI dashboard lacks explanation and I find it difficult to understand what caused the surge in usage
Congrats on the launch - this is so helpful! We're just about to launch an OpenAI integration and so far I've just been manually checking the usage page. AI Spend's notifications will be a game changer!
Oh someone has done it then lol actually 2 people both in the same week π«Άπ» do I get it for few π ai or any thing typing or speech to text or too do with productivity on the outside the box level could earn a fortune with my brain! Not, just ideas but how to get the best ai data for difference, speech patterns, people that put incorrect triggers to it because of the way our brains works. Example you donβt go and give a genius age work college work today, so without you, ai give them the most difficult people to understand to learn from one is it still intelligence. But this is exactly the application. I said two weeks ago to be created a keeping track of what we are getting while using ai! Yes, I want picked up on my other idea what Iβve just added in this comment lol π well done. Iβll let you know what I think.π«Άπ»
@evanwherchek Thanks, Evan! And yes, I do plan on adding more API providers like Azure, Bard, Claude, etc. in the future - but keep the same functionality across all of them. π
This sounds like a great tool for businesses. Can you elaborate on how the notifications work? Overall, AI Spend seems like a useful solution for managing costs and getting insights into usage.
@shushant_lakhyani Thanks for your interest! The notifications are straightforward: you get an email every day with the spend of the last day, and as compared to the day before. The same per week and per month. That way, you can grasp the trends.
I'm also looking to add alert notifications in the future that'll email you when the cost grows astronomical during the day.
Dude last night i noticed my OpenAI API costs were up like 100x in the last 2 days. And their analytics show basically nothing.
Someone started abusing my free AI tool. Seems like i am the perfect user for AI Spend! I will try it in the next couple of days for sure.
@thedontgetrekt Oh wow, that is exactly the thing I built AI Spend for. Warns you before it goes too rampant. Let me know if you have any feedback when you've tried it. π
