Really like it so far - I had so many images and gif's that I could use already in my phone, I'm afraid I could spend hours on here :D
Quick question, how do you put the stars around the boxes? Or does that happen for the viewer only?
@tomlimongello Thanks! We don't have a tool in the app to make them right now, but they are videos so any editing app would work. You could use snapchat for example. You might also try pocket.video
After my first 15 minutes or so - gotta say - I dig it! ;))
Very clear and intuitive - yet guided where needed (I'm guessing I'll probably discover some more features as I play along, but as a first time user experience >> enjoyed it and got into the commenting and interacting with no problems at all..) (Y)
Really liked the fact that if I exit the app the sound stays on in the background! (Y) (Y)
I may be wrong, but I had a sense that some of the broadcasters I was watching actually work for Hype..(?) Nothing wrong with that of course, as long as they were interesting and entertaining - that's what matters. In fact - it's actually a great move, as there's nothing worse than entering this kind of live app and finding a dull ghost town -- this way at any given moment there's someone live under Explore/recommendations and newcomers get a quick grasp of what's going on... (Plus, I liked the fact that you can watch old broadcasts to get an idea of shows to subscribe to...) (Y) (Y) (Y)
Admittedly, I may be a bit biased as I'm an old Vine user, but I really think you have something here.
Good luck!
Nice, I see @rus flying around Manhattan on his booster board all the time, wondered what he was up to, now I know! Looks awesome. (The audio doesn't seem to work with my bluetooth headphones)
Great timing when there is so much press around Vine. Although not sure we need another Periscope or Facebook Live. Honest question how is Hype going to compete?
Just because Vine died doesn't mean this will. Vine died because a big company bought to be close to first in market and then did everything to throw it under the bus like not supporting it in stream like it did periscope. Also it allowed people to film directly in twitter as a post. The ones who had the passion for it built something different, while twitter is in identity crisis mode.
Looks interesting. Would love to give this a try. The last time I used Vine/Periscope was to track hurricane Darby. Great job and congrats on the launch! @ckb
@ekambos I'm also bitter that there is no Android support. But even still, can't help but roll my eyes at the idea of another live stream/video/snapchatty thing. There is a reason Vine died on the Vine. That said, you can't knock the Vine team for trying and experimenting with something new. I'll keep an eye on this and see what comes of it, perhaps I'll be proven wrong.
@ekambos Exactly. I'm always up for giving it a try and I know this stuff takes A LOT of work to get to market, so that's the least we can do is give it a spin and hope it kills it.
