Say hello to our new responsive app builder! Now you can create one app & publish it to any device size — mobile, tablet, & desktop. Our drag-and-drop interface allows you to design unconstrained, no flexbox about it — what you see is truly what you get.

👋 Hey Everyone! I’m David, the co-founder & CEO of Adalo. Since the initial launch of Adalo 1.0 (back in November of 2019 before Product Hunt even had a no-code category!), our team has added hundreds of new features to Adalo. In fact we’ve made over 15,000 commits to our codebase since then. But throughout all of those changes, improvements, and new features released, nothing is as big as what we’re launching today. Our dream has always been for you to create & design an app without coding… AND for that app to look beautiful across every screen size… AND for that one app to be published to both App Stores as well as a web page. But when we first launched this dream wasn’t quite a reality. We’ve created an absolutely incredible mobile app builder since our launch, but our web apps have always been a little lacking. This shortcoming is why we’ve mainly just been known as a mobile only no-code platform. Today, that all changes with the launch of Adalo 2.0. We’re not just mobile anymore. You can now create beautiful responsive apps where that single app can be published to Apple, Google, and your own custom domain on the web. Plus everything stays in sync as you make changes. No more debating…. Web? Mobile? Android? iOS? How about them all?! In order to make that happen, our entire team has been working relentlessly to create a solution that maintains the simplicity and ease of use that Adalo has always been known for but adds the power of creating beautiful responsive apps. To pull all this off, we’re launching a total of 12 new features, to create the best Adalo yet: Adalo 2.0! LET’S TALK ABOUT THE 1️⃣ 2️⃣ NEW FEATURES! 🥳 — 🖼 3 DIFFERENT SCREEN SIZES (FOR CREATING RESPONSIVE DESIGNS) Now whenever you create a new Responsive Adalo App there are different breakpoints for Mobile, Tablet, and Desktop. These empower you to create different designs for different device sizes. 🏗 A NEW FREEFORM RESPONSIVE BUILDER For new Responsive Apps, there’s a brand new builder experience where you can change screen sizes and even drag your screen to see everything change in real time. And the best part is that it’s exactly like building the way you'd all grown to love from Adalo. Simply drag & drop your components in a completely freeform way wherever you want — no fighting with flexbox or pesky divs! 🙈 VISIBILITY BY SCREEN SIZE Being able to show different components on different screen sizes is essential for creating the best user experience. Now with every component you can simply toggle whether it shows up on mobile, tablet, and/or desktop. ⚖️ RESPONSIVE CONSTRAINTS As your screen scales, you can now control how every component will change along with it — both the size of the component and where it’s positioned. You can do this by selecting whether it will grow or whether it will stay fixed AND where it’s anchored on the screen. 📦 GROUP & AUTOGROUP RESPONSIVE CONTROLS Not only can you control how different components will change size based on the screen but you can also control how they will change size based on the group that they’re in. Additionally, we’ve created a new autogroup control where components on top of a rectangle will grow and shrink dynamically based on the database content. And finally, by just simply dragging the ‘Rectangle AutoGroup’ in the builder you can actually change the size of every component inside of it as you’re designing. 🪟 CUSTOM & SHARED LAYOUTS This is definitely one of our biggest game changing features for this launch. 🔥| In Responsive Apps, every component or group has an option for you to control whether you want the size and layout to be shared across all three screen sizes or if you want to break out one of those screen sizes and create a custom layout for just that specific size. Being able to control this saves you a ton of time without needing to set up logic and design separately for every screen size but only exactly when you need to. 🦮 SIDE NAVIGATION COMPONENT One of the most common patterns for web apps is having your navigation on the side. This new component creates a full side bar with navigation items that even changes sizes and as it moves down from tablet to mobile. And on mobile it’s a built-in menu icon that opens up a side navigation on that screen — which means no more needing to create separate navigation only screens! 🧑‍✈️ TOP NAVIGATION COMPONENT This is our second new navigation component that has different tabs across the top on desktop screens and then those tabs become different menu items inside of a built-in menu bar across the top for mobile & tablet screens. 🕴 HOVER EFFECTS (For New Nav Components Only Right Now) For both of our new navigation components, we’ve added some simple hover effects to the menu item buttons. While these are certainly just simple hover effects for now and only on the new components they go a long way to making it feel great on the web. 🧩 NEW RESPONSIVE SCREEN TEMPLATES For new Responsive Apps, you’ll now see a new list of screen templates that are pre-built with a variety of common layouts — everything from welcome & login screens to details screens to complicated three column community feed screens. We’ll continue to add more and more of these. 🚀 UNIVERSAL PUBLISHING Another game changing feature for this launch! 🔥| Now every new Responsive Adalo App can be published to the Apple App Store, Google Play, and your own custom web page. And the best part is that it’s all the same app so whenever you go to make changes you can now publish them to all three places. No more needing to share a database and have different mobile apps vs web apps. 🚥 LIVE & PREVIEW WEB PUBLISHING CONTROLS Previously on Adalo all of your changes would go live immediately — meaning your end users would see your changes as you’re still making them! But now with our new web publishing controls, you can look at your changes on a preview link and then decide when you want to publish those changes live to all of your users. 🗃 DIRECT XANO INTEGRATION (Launched Early A Couple Months Ago) Adalo has always allowed makers to create an app with a built-in Adalo database as well as additional database collections from external third-party sources like Airtable. However, you’ve never been able to store all of your data in a third-party system where that data includes users and their authorization. That all changed a couple of months ago when we launched our direct Xano integration. ⚡️ DIRECT ZAPIER INTEGRATION (Launched Early A Couple Months Ago) Zapier has always been the glue that connects software together across the internet. So a couple of months back we really improved our integration with them by putting it directly into our builder. Now whenever you click to add an action in your Adalo apps you can integrate with Zapier and create a Zap all without leaving Adalo. — 🙏 I cannot thank our team enough for all of the hard work they put in to pull this off. It’s inspiring to see how much our team was able to build while working hard together for you all. And I cannot wait to see what you all will create next with Adalo 2.0. Thank you for your support and thank you all for believing in no-code! 🙏

@david_adkin congrats on your launch! So happy to see Adalo getting to the top of no-code competition. I believe in you guys 🚀 What are your thoughts on AI in no-code? May we see some GPT4 integration in Adalo soon? :)
Pedro Fonseca
@david_adkin congrats on the launch. Is it now possible to make the webapp screens discoverable on search engines and do any kind of SEO? And what about analytics? Can we now integrate GA, configure events, etc?

@malkielfalcone Thanks Kirill!

Wow, congratulations on launch! We talked with you in 2021 @david_adkin, I was also thinking of either building my own app builder or joining Adalo, however, I thought that market size of no-code tools for mobile apps would be quite small so I decided to rather focus on web. And here we go - you guys are now ready to get into all the markets and become one of the best no-code tools! I'm so happy for you, eager to try new interface and bring some of my ideas to life in Adalo 2.0. Good luck!

This is a huge milestone, congratulations on your launch! It's exciting to see the platform evolve and offer even more possibilities for creating beautiful and responsive apps.
David Adkin
@cata Thanks Nick!! We couldn't be more excited to see what everyone builds with it!

Congratulations with the launch and good luck! I have some my slightly negative comments as one of your paid users. DIRECT XANO INTEGRATION requires you to be on team plan which costs 200 USD/month. Their most popular package is Professional plan -65 USD- (their claim on their pricing page) which does not have Xano integration. Basically even if you have already access to Xano for your other projects you still need to to spend 3X to be able to use Xano for external users. I wish they also had address some critical issues such as app wide variables, enums for dropdown choices etc.

Wow, your new responsive app builder sounds like a total game-changer! The drag-and-drop interface and the ability to publish to any device size is going to make app development more accessible to a wider audience, and I can't wait to see what kind of amazing creations people come up with.
David Adkin
@ivo_scherkamp Thanks Ivo! And yes, it was quite the challenge to create a completely freeform canvas that lets you drag and drop your components wherever you want while also allowing you to design by screen size and add constraints. And I completely second your final thoughts here. I'm pumped to see what everyone creates. That's where it really gets fun for us!

i tested adalo before this launch and its pretty good, but the competition is also really good and in some things better and worse. But congrats on 2.0 launch looks amazing

Great job on creating such a responsive and user-friendly app builder! It's so convenient to create apps for any device size without the hassle of designing multiple versions. I do wonder if there are any limitations on the types of apps that can be made or the amount of storage space available. Overall, I find this app builder to be a useful and practical tool for creating visually appealing and efficient apps. Looking forward to using it more in the future! 👍
