Why we made Acobot: We're a startup, working with NLP and conversational AI for over a decade. As early as in 2012 we published Acobot 1.0 as a chatbot for website and received wide recognition on the excellent conversational experience it delivered. However we found there were a big problem: Building a AI driven chatbot is really time-consuming. It may requires a team to work hard for several months to bring up bot that may interact with users smoothly. It's not affordable to the rest of us at all. We then halted the project. However we didn't gave up our R&D in AI/NLP. After years of hard work, we finally have developed a set of AI technologies that read and "understand" unstructured text without any human involvement. We also developed technologies that build chatbot with AI, in a fully automated manner. While we were researching and making progress with AI/NLP, chatbots got hot. As you may see from Product Hunt, there are a lot of chatbots, some of which have actually received a lot of upvotes. The bots are cool but a common limitation is, most, if not all, of them lack the ability to converse with users in natural language. That results in limited functionality and benefits. For those chatbots "powered by AI" and designed for customer support in natural language, they typically can answer only 10% to 30% questions from users and thus are often complained for poor user experience. In fact they have successfully earned a bad reputation for chatbots in customer support. In comparison, our AI, Aco, is already able to give accurate answers for up to 80% of questions about a certain product or services. Plus our two new technologies: * AI learns by itself * AI builds AI We believed it's the right time to re-launch Acobot as AI for web and finally we published Acobot 2.0 here on Product Hunt in April 2018. Had issues singing up..

I have been using this bot for almost a month. Like any machine-based-learning project, it could be mistaken occasionally at the beginning. With some "training" - adding more items to enrich the docs, it is growing smarter. Do not intend to make it a total replacement of human agent, yet it is your saver from redundant and repetitious choirs and much more than that. BWT, my visitors love it. Their conversations are really amusing sometimes. Anyway, using this bot is a big pro for people fond with playing around A.I. while watching what it can be used for.

Pros:

A good choice to help your website and your visitors. Easy setup, quick integration, real-time learning and monitoring.

Cons:

Minor compared to the whole set of solid features.

I like its simple, clear classic widget style though there are few modern styles are available.

It is a truly excellent product. You need to try it to see for yourself. It is easy to setup and customise and the FAQ and help guides are so well written. I was surprised to find how simple and well designed it was. Usually there are a ton of questions with most software online applications but acobot is the best easily understand that I have ever found. I looked in the market for others, but nothing compares to Acobot. Thanks Vic. You are a genius.

Ease of use, tremendous customer support, very flexible. Spanish language coming soon too.
