Thanks for hunting @mwseibel and hello fellow Hunters! ๐Ÿ”Ž Have you ever discovered a former employee still having access to one of your SaaS applications? ๐ŸŒŸ Look no further! With AccessOwl, you can detect every application and its users, ensuring no user account is forgotten during offboarding! I'm Philip, the Co-Founder and CEO of AccessOwl. Having faced numerous challenges in managing user access to SaaS applications in my previous companies, we developed AccessOwl to simplify your team's access management. ๐Ÿคฏ The Problem Have you encountered former employees with access to your SaaS tools? Trust me, it happens to all of us. The issue is that most organizations struggle to track the SaaS applications in use and, worse, don't know who has access to which tool. This leads to orphaned user accounts, costing you money and posing a security risk. ๐ŸŒŸ The Solution By connecting to your Google Workspace, AccessOwl automatically scans your entire organization for all SaaS tools and user accounts in use. Picture this: One of our customers believed they were using 100 applications. Guess how many we discovered? 300! With AccessOwl offboarding becomes significantly easier: 1. Trigger an offboarding within AccessOwl or directly in Slack. 2. AccessOwl prompts the application admin to offboard the users or can optionally delete the user accounts on your behalf (available in the paid version). ๐Ÿฆ‰ What is AccessOwl? AccessOwl manages your team's access to any SaaS application, eliminating the manual work of creating, deleting, and documenting SaaS access. By integrating with Google and Slack workspaces, it simplifies the process, allowing employees to: ๐Ÿ’ฅ Request and approve access in Slack ๐Ÿ’ฅ Automatically provision user accounts ๐Ÿ’ฅ Streamline employee on- and offboarding ๐Ÿ’ฅ Keep track of all access, making SOC2, ISO27001, HIPAA audits a breeze ๐Ÿ’ฅ ... and now, it also discovers applications and user accounts! ๐ŸŽ For PH launch users only: Use the new AccessOwl Discovery feature completely free of charge! ๐Ÿ’ก Do you have any feedback or ideas on how we can improve AccessOwl? We'd love to hear from you in the comments! ~Philip

It is very handy to fetch all the existing permissions from GSuite and handle them on slack. Otherwise I need to check it every now and then whenever I have a breach paranoia ๐Ÿ™ƒ Does it notify me on slack when an employee gives access to a 3rd party app?
Mathias Nestler
@mihriminaz That's indeed an amazing idea! We heard that alerting on these kind of events would help people a lot to keep an eye on what's happening in their organizations, especially interested for CISOs. We plan to launch a feature like that soon!
Jana Schellong
I appreciate that all it requires to see all employees' SaaS access is connecting my Google Workspace. Congrats on the launch ๐Ÿ™Œ
Mathias Nestler
@jana_schellong Indeed, we want to get people quickly going. Thanks for your feedback, Jana!
Christopher Chae
looks cool, @philip_lr! ive always thought there should be a better way to manage SaaS usage and spend across our team. Might give this a try!
Philip LR
@christopher_chae And don't forget to share your thoughts with me! Would love to hear what you think
Steven Renwick
this is certainly a problem we have encountered. bad for security, but also bad to be paying for apps you don't need! looks like a great product. good luck!
Mathias Nestler
@major_grooves You nailed it, Steven. Absolutely! Appreciate your support!
Niklas Higi
AccessOwl is a must-have for startups that have to do proper access reviews for ISO/SOC2 but don't have the budget for Enterprise budget solutions like Okta yet! Give it a try and see what kind of unused user accounts you didn't know you still had lying around ;)
Mathias Nestler
@shroudedcode Well said, Niklas! Appreciate your fantastic support!
David
Have heard highly positive reviews of Access Owl โ€” congrats on the PH launch! :) Starting at what team size is Access Owl a good fit?
Philip LR
@david_paffenholz Great question, as with many things, it depends ;) Here are a few typical stages we see: For small organizations, starting at 5 employees: You'd probably want to keep the AccessOwl Discovery just running in the background to have a single-source-of-truth to see every app that's in use and help with employee offboarding. For organizations with 20+ employees and ISO27001 or SOC 2 certified: Most companies start out with managing all processes required to stay compliant manually. AccessOwl can automate all of them with easy to implement Slack workflows. For growing organizations with 50-80+ employees: This is usually the breaking point where you'd want to look into a solution such as AccessOwl to automate the user account provisioning and deprovisioning.

Great implementation of solving the access nightmare. Saves a lot of time and hassle. Keep on shipping!
Philip LR
@khwhahn You sound like you've experienced some of that nightmare yourself? Thanks!
Mathias Nestler
@khwhahn That's the perfect description actually: "Access Nightmare". With us no more!! Thank you!
Ben Kramer
Congrats on the launch, @philip_lr and team! This looks so helpful for managing the overload of tools, accounts, and access management that companies face today.
Philip LR
@benkramer Thanks Ben!
Aike Hillbrands
Fantastic product that the people at AccessOwl are building! We are customers, and itโ€˜s making our compliance access reviews super easy and straightforward. Thanks to that, we were able to reduce the access chaos for our SOC2 and ISO 27001 certification :)
Mathias Nestler
@aikeh Aike, it's fantastic to have customers like you onboard. Please keep up the continuous feedback so that we can make our beloved ๐Ÿฆ‰ better and better :-)
Marshall Johnston
I had access to an a company slack for about 6 months after leaving. And the only reason I lost it was because I told them. I can only imagine the security implications of that. This makes so much sense.
Philip LR
@marshall_johnston Sounds like AccessOwl could be a great fit for that company ;) You would be surprised about how often we hear these stories about forgotten access. The security implications are one problem, another are the tens of thousands of dollars companies are wasting on those orphaned user accounts.
Zheng Hao Tan
Congrats on the launch, AccessOwl team! Really love how y'all are solving this problem - it's hard to even keep track of how many SaaS applications we're using off the top of my head! Honestly, I could see this being super useful even for single digit headcount teams :)
Philip LR
@zhenghaooo You are right. I recently sat down with Mathias and we were thinking how we can be more useful for smaller teams. And I myself often feel like I'm loosing track of the software and accounts we've been using. Hope to see you try it and let me know what you think!
Lennart H.
Great tool that saves so much work and unwanted surprises! Great to see how you are developing your product further ๐ŸŽ‰
Mathias Nestler
@lnxsky Indeed, and these surprises could mean that you don't get your certification... Appreciate the support, Lennart!

Yes, the issue of keeping an overview who has access (esp. for off-boarding...) in our company is a real one. Will give it a spin, thanks for building!
Mathias Nestler
@clemo_finto True. If you need anything, let us know, Clemens. Appreciate your support!
Bryan Onel
