I really like about.me, but LinkedIn wins with its social network.
Visually and architecturally, about.me feels superior to LinkedIn's bloated and clunky platform, and while first impressions are critical, a resume often being that starting point, there's just something impersonal of sending someone to an about.me/coreygwin page as opposed to a personal site or directly to LinkedIn.
I say about.me take on LinkedIn head on, focusing on superior design to garner the attention of that audience. I suppose Backstory is a good first step.
Looks great, but tough to get someone to start from scratch. Suggestion - a quick import tool from LinkedIn. Something simple, even a basic text import, would make a big difference here.
