Let's start with the work our incredible designers have done here. We created an entirely new design language, code-named Knox, to unleash the power and productivity we’ve been dreaming of – all while preserving the heart and soul of 1Password. 😍
It's beautiful, but it's also easy to use and unleashes the power and productivity we’ve been dreaming of. Here are a few of the features that more deeply integrate 1Password into macOS:
🔎 Quick Access is always available, giving you access to all of your 1Password data, from anywhere on your Mac
💻 Universal Autofill enables you to fill anywhere, including Mac apps, Terminal, and system prompts

@dave_teare impossible to find the update. i am on Mac. how to get it? (note: make it incredibly easy to find the "check update" app on mac whether downloaded from App store or your site)

To help us make sure we were able to talk one on one with anyone who reached out, we are not serving automatic updates to version 8 from 1Password 7 at this time. We will be doing exactly that in the future. Have been using 1password since 2014. It felt like a pain at the start to save all the passwords, and even change them to secure ones. I persisted - and years later, it was the best thing i did. People don't realise how much of a *mental relief* one gets from using 1password. It's like a weight off your shoulder. Just one thing less to worry about. I know there are other password managers out there, but to me (and now my family) 1p is one of the main secure places that has all of my digital life.
When i see a new release i always get excited with the new features. The Quick Access is a welcome addition. I already use a similar feature with Alfred - however it felt limited. I'm hoping this new update will make it a breeze!

When will the Mac App Store version be updated?
Thank you, @ogawa0071! 🙌 Glad to hear you're liking what you're seeing. As for your question, as you've seen 1Password 8 for Mac isn’t currently available in the Mac App Store. Instead, you can download the app directly through our website:
https://1password.com/downloads
If your subscription is through Apple, you can still download the app directly from our website, and your subscription will carry over. There’s no need to change your billing information.

Any news on hosting our own servers since local vault support appears to have been removed? I've been using a local vault for seven plus years across multiple versions and platforms, and while I love the work y'all do, I'm still not keen on access to my vault becoming reliant on a service's availability.

What an amazing update. After trying/experimenting with LastPass, and many more, my money, and my passwords are always with 1Password. The UI, accessibility, and the speed of the app has been great.
Hope to see the UI updates/keyboard shortcuts brought across to chrome soon.

Regarding Chrome specifically, we'll definitely be bringing a lot of the design from the main app over to the extension. Funny enough, this new design actually started within the browsers years ago and grew into our new Knox design language used within the app. It evolved a lot in the process and our improvements will be finding their way back into the browsers. It's a virtuous cycle. 🙂
As for shortcuts we'll do our best but there are inherent differences between the various technologies involved here. We have constantly pushed the boundaries of what's possible in a browser extension and will continue to do so, and with any luck we'll be able to get complete consistency as the APIs continue to evolve.
What do you mean by new generation... can you please talk little bit about core differentiators...for example i m using dashlane , why should i switch to 1password.
Exciting! Trying it now, it looks pretty damn slick.
Have been using 1Password for many years now, and I am using it on average 1000000000000000 per day.
Since I incorporated it into my workflow there is no turning back.
After your last update, I didn't actually install the new browser extensions as the previous one was way better still and less buggy.
This new update however looks like everything loads really nice and quick. Plus the quick launcher is gonna save me lots of time.
