Since I have full time job, weekends are usually the time to work on side projects. If I feel burned out, I go completely social media free and no coding for a day or two π
I do love building products so that comes handy π
apart from that, I'm trying to build some habits to follow on daily basis. e.g, no laptop/phone after 7, wake up at 4, no sugar diet, etc
I relax. Literally just that, chill out, read, watch something, eat something good, drink, whatever. With so much focus on always being on the grind relaxing has become a bit lost but it's top tier for clearing your mind
Spend as much time as I can at the beach. It may sound cliche but being surrounded by the Pacific Ocean replenishes and reinvigorates my mind. Funny thing is I can't swim. Nature would be my refreshment.
I love movies so I keep a movie aside for the weekend to watch.
Apart from that, I write, listen to music or hang out with friends a bit.
On Sunday evening, I write down the agenda for next week.
Most of the time i work on my personal projects on weekend. But if i don't have anything to do or burnt out by weekday's work i will probrably play some games, watch some anime or go outside.
I generally spend time with my family/friends, take lot of long walks that typically pass through or end in a park, and silence my phone π€« . I also have a weekly bookclub that caps off every Sunday night. I read 50-70 pages that I then get to discuss with a group of my close friends each week over Zoom . Been going strong since 2014.
Socializing / spending time with my loved ones is a great way of clearing my mind, but also getting new perspectives if we do talk about work (as a lot of them are also entrepreneurs)
Yeah! Dont lose out on your weekend rest and relaxation, because you will always have pending work and deadlines. Nothing will go to plan. Enjoy the weekend irrespective of success or failure. We just launched on PH today. Do check us out!
Catch up on emails π
But more seriously, I've found it energizing to get out and do something social (live music, comedy, boating, etc.) considering I WFH and rarely see anyone other than @suzywillow on the weekdays.
@suzywillow@rrhoover Catch up emails on weekend and relax during the weekdays? π
I'm not that "social" so mine usually involve coding yet another side project or taking my wife and kid to beach or just a night drive π
