What features or functions do the time-saving apps typically have? I often use AI products to help me save time at work, such as by handling repetitive tasks and performing data analysis.

I think they are really helping, but sometimes it's scary as to how our entire workflow depends on them

Time-saving apps can be helpful by making tasks quicker, but their effectiveness also depends on the app's ease of use and how frequently you use it. For me, iBoysoft MagicMenu on my MacBook Pro has saved me a significant amount of work time. For example, it enhances the right-click menu, providing a convenient and reliable method for simplifying tasks. What sets it apart from other apps is its ability to create personalized right-click shortcuts, boosting efficiency. With just a right-click, I can easily create new files, move or copy items, quickly access folders, copy file paths, search for and delete duplicates, archive files, uninstall apps, and more. It offers a faster, smarter way to manage files on a daily basis.

It's helpful to track the time spent on tasks. Apps can show where your time is going and help you manage it better.

Time saving apps are great, but if they’re not intuitive, they just create more problems

Some time tracking tools definitely help by giving visibility into where your hours go. But too many bells and whistles can make it a chore. I'm liking Clockify lately - simple interface but powerful reporting. Anyone else have a favorite that strikes the right balance?

The key is finding apps that truly integrate seamlessly into your routine and solve specific problems without creating new ones.

It all depends on your needs, daily schedule, whether you work alone, and how many projects you’re managing in parallel. Based on my experience, if you have multiple parallel projects, a task planner can be incredibly helpful because it’s simply impossible to keep all the details in your head. If you’re working alone on a single project, a basic Excel sheet might suffice. However, if you work in software development, it’s better to use task-tracking systems, of which there are plenty, with Jira being one of the gold standards alongside Trello and YouTrack. Three years ago, we started developing our own Voiset — AI task planner, to combine personal and business tasks. Overall, it saves time when frequently switching contexts, as it takes all calendars into account and builds a personalized schedule. However, what might be a magic wand for one person could be a useless tool for another.
