How do you use A/B testing to evaluate different feature designs and iterations? What metrics do you track to measure the performance of your experiments?

I'm looking into conversion only. In this case conversion is not monetary only, but converting user from 1 step to 2nd. It can be: User was on Home page and visited my App login page. Or user was on App login page and signed Up.
