Your thoughts on the new "Hidden Upvote Hours" on PHs home page?

Did you notice that for the first 4 hours of the day, all products on the home page have their upvotes hidden to give every product a fair chance? Personally, I like the idea. How it has been done up until now. Big products rile up their communities in the first few hours and get to the top, and the average PH user will only look at the top 5-10 products. New products and personal projects didn't stand a chance to be seen by the community. Do you think this is a good change, and how will it affect PH?

We were the first ones to witness this change when we launched Wavel and topped the charts. So I have all the good things to say about it. It is a part of new guidelines by the PH team to beat spammers and agencies trying to hack PH. I like the idea, but still not sure how effective it is though. One thing I can say is that it does help a lot of passion products by giving them visibility. Something which is core to the PH community.

I think it gives all products a fair chance to be visible to the community. We launched here yesterday - https://www.producthunt.com/post... and for the first few hours we did not know how many upvotes we got!

The idea is good but on the other hand as a person who looks at all new products of the day its kinda anoying because some products are really bad made up and have a bad presentation and thats not what i want to see, before the update i knew that the good presentations are on the top
