Have you ever had any travel mishaps or funny experiences while on a trip?

I traveled to Turkey with a group of 50 people. On the way back home, at the airport in Istanbul where we were supposed to have 4 hours of free time, one person from the group accidentally stepped out of the airport. This led to all 50 of us in the group having to go through customs again and we barely made it to board the flight. What should have been 4 hours of rest turned into 4 hours of hell.

left my wallet on intercity trip in Italy with all my IDs and bank cards. Thank God the same bus/driver was there at exact same time and gave it back to me.

@yernar_a Talk about a rollercoaster of emotions! That's some next-level serendipity! It's like your wallet took a little vacation of its own, but realized it couldn't survive without you and made a beeline back. Here's to guardian bus drivers and happy endings!

Actually just yesterday I had booked the wrong bus from my home town to the airport 2 hours away. As the lady behind the counter told me that there were no further buses to the airport, I felt myself begin to panic. In the end I called a friend who helped me out BIG time! We arrived at the airport and I bought us both lunch:-)

@lisa_steingold1 Ah, the classic "wrong bus" saga strikes again! It's like your travel plans decided to take a detour through the scenic route of unexpected adventures. It's amazing how a simple phone call to a friend can turn a potential travel disaster into a heartwarming tale of friendship and teamwork. And treating your friend to lunch as a thank-you? Now that's what I call turning lemons into lemonade! Here's to friends who come to the rescue when buses go rogue!

One time, I tried to bring my deodorant onto the plane. The customs officer took one look at it and tossed it in the trash. I was like, "Wait, please! I just bought it!" You should have seen the look on his face—it was priceless! He definitely didn't share my sense of deodorant emergency.

@azra_memisevic Haha! Talk about a deodorant disaster! You were probably hoping for a smooth takeoff, but instead, your deodorant got grounded before it even had a chance to lift off! That customs officer must have thought you were trying to smuggle in some kind of secret deodorant weapon! Who knew personal hygiene could be such a high-stakes game at airport security? Well, at least you'll have a funny story to tell next time you're shopping for toiletries!

If you often travel for work and have everything scheduled by the hour, I recommend not going to such places so as not to lose spare time that you could spend on vacation. And in general, it's best to use CLC Lodging reviews before you plan to go somewhere. Since it is best to find out all the information in advance.

@alex_gan2 It sounds like you're emphasizing the importance of balancing work and leisure when traveling for business. Indeed, managing time effectively can ensure you make the most of your trips, whether for work or pleasure. Checking out reviews, like those for CLC Lodging, beforehand can definitely help streamline the planning process and ensure a smoother experience overall. Thanks for sharing these tips!

Oh, that airport mishap sounds like a wild ride - like trying to herd 50 cats through customs! Traveling always has its surprises, right? Just like debugging code, sometimes you run into unexpected hiccups along the way.

@thestarkster Absolutely! Traveling can sometimes feel like herding cats. Who knew that navigating airports could be so similar to troubleshooting a tricky piece of code? But hey, it's all part of the adventure!

On my last major trip I ended up in hospital, even though I was the most careful person ever. I took 6 packs of mosquito spray and 6 packs of sun cream, no ice cubes and no salad and ended up sick 😂

On my way back from Budapest, the bus driver wouldn't turn off the music and some wild people started dancing and drinking. It was both funny and frustrating since it was very late and, well, ALMOST everyone was tired.

@ermina_pezerovic Sounds like your bus ride turned into an impromptu party bus! I guess when life gives you loud music and rowdy passengers, you just have to roll with it—literally! It's like a scene straight out of a comedy movie: sleepy travelers surrounded by a bunch of party animals on wheels! Next time you're on a late-night journey, maybe bring some disco balls and party hats, just in case the bus driver decides to crank up the tunes again!

So manyyyyy! Our plane left 1 day in advance and we didn't get a notification! Ended up getting on the next day plane (for free!) after a couple didn't show up. On top of that, it was my bday the following day and I was going to see my family, so it was pretty stressful, but all worked out in the end!

@mplebl Wow, sounds like you were waging a full-scale war against mosquitoes and sunburn! You were probably more protected than a medieval knight in battle! It's like you were in a comedy of errors, but I'm glad you can look back on it and laugh—even if you were laughing from a hospital bed! Here's hoping your next trip is a lot less eventful, in the best way possible!
